Today was Brooke's first track meet of the year. She did very well. She tried long jump for the first time ever and without any training, jumped 11' 11". We are not sure how that jump placed in today's meet as the kids never know how they did until the coaches post results at school within a day or two. I'm posting two videos below of Brooke. Brooke won her heat in the 100m race in about 13.8 seconds. Harleigh Ruffin came in 2nd place in the heat. They will find out tomorrow how they placed overall:
Brooke ran the 4th leg in her team's 4x100m relay. Ashley Spinks ran the first leg, handing off to Nicole Springer who handed off to Kayleen Aragon. Kayleen then handed off to Brooke. Harleigh Ruffin is usually in the relay with Brooke and will get to run in the next meet:
